Can table tennis beat out NASCAR in Alabama? Well, maybe at the Riverchase Galleria.
Eight-year-old BumperNets Inc., a table tennis store and sports center, has moved to a much larger location in Alabama's largest shopping mall, replacing a NASCAR-themed arcade.
This is the fifth move for the company, three of which have been in the Galleria and all prompted by mall management, as the niche retail store continues to grow 20 to 30 percent each year, said President Homer Brown.
Brown, a former BP Oil executive and national table tennis champion, recently moved from his 2,200-square-foot spot near Sears to a 6,200-square-foot slot across the mall, nearly tripling the space.
